I won’t be rooting for Bama because their fans irritate me. (BTW, saw the jackass who poisoned the Auburn tree is in Louisianna posing for pictures. Shame on him and shame on the cheeseheads that took his picture. Rivalries are fun and all, but there are lines you don’t cross.) And I won’t be rooting for LSU because the whole “Geaux” thing is obnoxious. Like a good Southern Girl I will be watching but I’m meh either way.
Newt: “The Bigotry Question Goes Both Ways”. I posted on FB a few weeks ago about something similar but Newt says it better than I could. My point, and I think Newt’s point as well, is that the people who cry for tolerance of their group or belief system are the least tolerant of others’ groups or belief systems. Discrimination against Christians is rampant in this country to a frustrating degree. Yet conservatives are labeled bigots. The Massachusetts Catholic Church being forced out of the adoption process for standing by their beliefs was an exellent example. Thank you, Newt.
Allrighty, then. I’m taking my friend Barbara’s lead and am going to try to write about at least one thing a day. I’m a really random person, so no tellling what subject I’ll come up with each time. I’m pretty sure no one is going to read this, but I think it will be fun to reread this blog at the end of the year to see where my mind was.
I’m a full-time mom and live in Atlanta with my husband of 15 years, our nine year old son (who we call Bug), and our dog Harry and cat Sebastian. While I’m not originally from Georgia, I love the South and would never, ever want to live anywhere else.
My family is my first passion, politics is my second. I am a Reagan Conservative and strive to stay aware and involved as much as possible. Beyond that, my main hobby is crafting and sewing. Pinterest has become a great aid in that indeavor.
I’m sick today, so I’m gonna end it there.
